I'm a soft spoken, easy- going, compassionate person who loves children and meeting new people. I come from a family of 6 and my family means the world to me. I am the youngest of the bunch so I've never had a younger sibling to take care of, so I've gotten my baby fix elsewhere. I'm turning 21 this September and am waiting to star Nursing school in January of 2019 so in the mean time I am looking for one more thing to cross off my bucket list!
I've spent lots of time volunteering at summer bible camps being a camp counsellor for middle school kids and volunteering in the nursery at my local church with babies 13-24 months. The summer of grade 11 I travelled to Guatemala City to volunteer at local daycares, orphanages and spending time with homeless people. The summer after I graduated (2015), I looked after my 3 cousins 2-3 days a week (2 of which are twins, ages 6 and the oldest was 8). We played at playgrounds, went swimming, did crafts, played games, read and spent a lot of time outside. The following November of 2015 I left to go to South Africa with a friend where we spent time at a local AIDS baby home just outside of Johannesburg taking care of babies 3-24 months old. I've thoroughly enjoyed every single one of these experiences, though they were at times challenging, they pushed me out of my comfort zone and grew me in different ways. And now, I currently get my baby fix at the nursery in my local church every Sunday where I help out with the 13-24 month olds :)
Some of my interests include spending time with the people I love, exploring new places, reading, writing, baking, hiking, volleyball (I played competitively from grade 8-12 all year round, and coached grade 7 girls), fishing (I worked at a fishing lodge the summer of 2016 and am going back this summer), and pretty much anything outdoors.
